Evelyn Louise Knox, Born September 20, 1926 to Clint Knox and Ruby Knox Kunkel in Lovelady, Texas. Evelyn went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2017 at the age of 90 in Pueblo, Colorado. Evelyn was the oldest of 4 siblings, Bernice Copeland Thurman Ray Knox and Janie Cunningham. She lost her father at a young age and life was a struggle for the family but their faith in the Lord got them through it. That same faith brought her second father Robert Kunkel into her life.
Evelyn was married for 25 years to GB Richards. She had other relationships but never married anyone else. She had 5 children Shirley (Donald) Meier, Ray (Kathy) Richards, Sheila (Leonard) Cunningham, Clint (Sandy) Richards and Katrina (Alex) Sapegin. She also had 17 grandchildren Kevin, Holly, Donnette, Karl, Yvonne, Rachelle, Sean, Robyn, Roger, Tifni, Cindy, Jennifer, Junett, Garland, Warner, Larissa and Daniel. She also had 39 and counting great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. And we can't forget she had many extended family members that forever stayed in her heart and mind.
Evelyn needed a change after her divorce and moved to Pueblo, Colorado. It was the something she needed and there she flourished. Pueblo will always be her home. She become the non-biological mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She was very active in Al-non, later her church and then she decided she needed to help. So she went back to school. In 1988 she graduated from the University of Southern Colorado with a bachelor degree in Behavioral Science. She worked in social services for a period of time, then decided she needed to help people in her own life. Evelyn has touched and affected many lives, she never met a stranger and trusted many. Always straight forward and honest, yet a kind word to add. Later in life my Mother's faith in the Lord became strong again. Evelyn is proceeded in death by parents Clint, Ruby and Robert. Sisters Bernice and Janie. Daughter Shirley. Grandchildren Garland and Donnette. May your love and faith fill this family for generations. Viewing, Thursday, May 18, 2017, 5-7pm at the funeral home. Celebration of Life 1pm, Friday, May 19, 2017 with Interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements by T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home, Pueblo, CO.
